Managing it right

Management education is one of the most sought after options today. Aspiring MBA set their eyes on getting a toehold in the best business school. However students are under a wrong notion that entry in to a premier management institute makes things easier for future. More than teachers, infrastructure or syllabus, it is perception that makes the best business institute stand out. Management is not merely a lucrative option but also an attitude. In order to become a good managers, students should know what management is. It is part of every walk of life.

Management schools should act more as academic institutes. They give knowledge & create a solid foundation. The syllabus is more or less industry centric but all that matters is it's implementation. B-schools should organise seminars & workshops on issues like global warming, terrorism, budget & the like. Management is required everywhere, right from home to traffic to governance.

If we talk about the rankings of various business schools than it is no doubt that the rankings can be manipulated & as a result fake rankings are printed in various magazine's & many students just by seeing rankings take admission in these business schools which have neither best quality of education nor that environment that an MBA student needs. That's why most industries are not happy with today's management school product because many students doesn't have those skills which companies want today so these companies have to spend a lot on the training of these students which is very costly for the companies.

If students want to succeed, they should think beyond jobs, future managers should focus on putting theory into practice, honing skills & understanding the basics. It is the responsibility of the management institute to put more emphasis on the practical knowledge so it's students must know what actually happens in the outside corporate world.

Management education is mere preparation & real learning starts with experience. Good business schools should develop students ability to think & analyse about the issues. This is what management is all about. That's why it is called an attitude & way of life. Let students learn the basics & rest assured. B-schools should focus on this ground reality.
Now here i want to share some of my experience from the b-school in which i am currently studying. The best thing about this b-school is that it gives more emphasis on the practical knowledge for example whenever any event occurs, the whole responsibility for managing that event is totally on the shoulders of the students so by which students learn how to cope up with the pressure because outside in the corporate world the intensity of the pressure is even more. In our b-school the sessions on Global vision taken by the chief mentor are very fruitfull to the students by which they able to know what is happening around the world. which in turn increases the employability of the students & their ability to think out of box.

NAXALITES- A CURSE ON INDIA

One of the main problems that India facing today is how to overcome the Naxalites who are scattered among 450m of india's poorest people. States which are highly affected by naxal conflict are Jharkhand, Orissa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh & West Bengal. This month alone the maoists or naxalites killed 24 policemen in West Bengal & 12 villagers in Bihar.

There are three main reasons why india not able to root out these Naxalites who are creating so much havoc in many districts are-

1. State level politics can play a pernicious role. As in West Bengal, The states main opposition Trinamul Congress party has meanwhile criticised the anti-naxalite operations. A state election is due next year &it may be looking for electoral support from the maoists of a kind that helped bring Jharkhand's ruling party to power last year.

2. The central government must share the blame. The strong leadership requires to mobilise the resources, public opinion & state government for a long & difficult campaign has been lacking.

3. The last obstacle is that no one is really sure how to deal with these Naxalites.

Now it's time for our government to take some heavely aggressive actions against these Naxalites before they came up from jungles to the districts. If our government still doesn't wake up then ultimaely in the near future they have to kill these Naxalites but at that time may be these Naxalites entered in between the common innocent people & when our government give orders to kill the Naxalites then many innocent people were also lost their lives. So our indian government must learn the lesson from the Srilanka & the LTTE issue in which several innocent people lost their lives. So i hope our government would wake up & will take certain measures for the security of it's innocent people who are daily lost their life by the attack of these Naxalites.
